Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 August 2026
Whenify is a multiplayer music-timeline party game. We designed it to need as little of your data as possible: there are no user accounts and no login. This policy explains what limited data the app handles and why.
Who we are
Whenify is developed by Aidas Mickevičius. For any privacy question, contact whenify.info@gmail.com.
What data we process
- Display name (nickname). When you create or join a room you enter a name. It is shown to the other players in that room and stored with the room while the game is live. It is kept on your device (to pre-fill next time) and in the room's realtime database record. You may enter any nickname you like — it does not have to be your real name.
- Room & game data. The 4-letter room code, the list of players in the room, and the current game state (cards on the timeline, turn, scores) are stored in our realtime database (Google Firebase) so all players in the room stay in sync.
- On-device settings. Your chosen language, last-used nickname, and whether you have unlocked the full song catalogue are stored locally on your device.
We do not collect your email, phone number, contacts, precise location, or advertising identifiers. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising, and we do not sell or share your data with anyone for marketing.
How long we keep it
Room and game data is temporary. Rooms are automatically deleted after 24 hours, and a room whose host has been inactive for 30 minutes is closed. When a room is deleted, its data (including the nicknames in it) is removed. On-device settings remain until you delete the app.
Purchases
The full-catalogue unlock is a one-time in-app purchase processed entirely by Apple. We never see or store your payment details. Apple's handling of the transaction is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
Spotify
The app can open a song in the Spotify app on your device via a link. Whenify does not connect to any Spotify account and sends no data to Spotify; opening a link is handled by iOS and Spotify under their own terms.
Third-party services
- Google Firebase (Realtime Database) — stores the temporary room/game data described above. See Google's privacy policy for how Google processes data on our behalf.
- Apple — processes in-app purchases.
Children
Whenify is a general-audience music game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices
Because there is no account, the simplest way to remove your data is to leave or close the room (which deletes it) and to delete the app (which removes on-device settings). For any request or question, email whenify.info@gmail.com.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and post the new version at the same URL.
